Audio Settings
Video conference platforms typically use background noise suppression to optimize for voice calls. This means that the sound from your fiddle will be interpreted as background noise and quickly muted. In order to have a productive virtual lesson, you will need to know how to adjust the audio settings to override the noise suppression feature. Here is how to do this on three different video conference platforms: Skype, Google Meet, and Zoom.
Skype
Go to Settings > Audio & Video. Disable Automatically adjust microphone settings. Make a test call to make sure everything is working properly.

Google Meet
Go to More options (three dots) > Settings. Click Audio. Turn off Noise cancellation. Make a test call to make sure everything is working properly.

Zoom
Go to Settings > Audio > Advanced. Turn off Suppress Persistent Background Noise and Intermittent Background Noise. If you have a good internet connection, you have the option to turn on Original sound and Enable stereo. Test the sound by clicking the Test Mic button.
