Lesson fees and payment
Lessons are $37.50 for 30 minutes, $47.50 for 45 minutes, and $60 for an hour. Add $10 per person up to two extra people per lesson. Group lessons are optional and paid by donation, $10-$20 suggested donation per family per lesson. Private lesson fees may be paid monthly by either cash, check, or by clicking the button in your invoice to pay online. Online payments are processed via PayPal and require a convenience fee. Invoices are sent out on the 1st of every month for that month and should be paid by the 2nd week of the month. Please contact me regarding questions about lesson fees.
Cancellation Policy
24 hour notification is required for all missed lessons. You can notify me by text or email but it is most helpful if you use the online calendar in the Student Portal to make any changes to attendance. If the student wakes up sick (but still functional) or there is a temporary scheduling issue, contact me to arrange for an online lesson. In the event of an emergency, notify me as soon as possible. If you fail to give notification of absence, you will be charged for the lesson.
If notification is given, you can attempt to make up the lesson by using the online calendar to register for an available lesson. If you are unable to make up the lesson, the lesson fee will be credited to your account.

Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather that would make it dangerous or impossible to attend in person, lessons will be conducted via Zoom, Skype, or Google Hangouts. I will contact students the morning of their regularly scheduled lesson to schedule an online meeting.
Discontinuing Lessons
Should you need to discontinue lessons, I ask that you give 15 days notice via email at [email protected]. Payment will be required for any remaining scheduled lessons within this time frame.
Required Materials
All students should have an instrument and bow that are in good working order, rosin, a shoulder rest, a tuner (an app is ok), metronome (an app is ok), a spiral notebook, pencil, and assigned lesson materials. You can expect to spend around $10-20 per year on music books. A music stand is highly recommended.
Practice Expectations
Students are expected to practice outside of their private lesson each week. Regular practice is critical if you want to develop musicianship skills. The first stage of learning a musical instrument is physical, so regular practice helps to build the strength, flexibility, and muscle memory required to make progress. The goal is to set a sustainable level of regular music practice that you can commit to. Ten minutes of focused practice each day is better than three hours once a week.
